Since 2021, Northamptonshire has had two unitary councils: West Northamptonshire, which includes Northampton, Daventry and Towcester, and North Northamptonshire, which includes Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Rushden, Rothwell and Oundle.
The M1 runs along the western side of the county, the A14 crosses the north, and the A43 and A45 link the towns. In between are dozens of stone villages, many with cars kept on drives or in yards.
Northampton is the county’s largest town and has its own page. Daventry, Towcester and Brackley are smaller market towns with new estates on their edges, all easy to collect from.
Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough are close together around the A14 and A6. Rothwell and Desborough sit on the A6 north of Kettering, and Oundle lies on the River Nene in the far north-east, with a PE8 postcode.
