Coventry was rebuilt after wartime bombing, and its inner ring road, the A4053, is one of the most distinctive in the country, with junctions packed close together. Outside it, the city spreads into suburbs bounded by the A45 to the south and west, the A46 to the east and the M6 to the north.

Coventry was the home of the British car industry for much of the twentieth century, and plenty of older cars are still kept here. Its postcode districts run from CV1 in the centre to CV6 in the north.

North of the centre

Foleshill, Radford, Holbrooks and Bell Green are dense areas of terraced and semi-detached housing, close to the M6 and the A444. Kerbside collection is normal.

South and west

Earlsdon, Cheylesmore, Canley and Tile Hill run out towards the A45 and the University of Warwick. There is a mix of terraces and larger semis, and many drives.

East Coventry

Stoke, Wyken and Binley are reached from the A46 and the Binley Road. Collection is routine across all of them.
